Yuu Aoi as Rurouni Kenshin's Megumi

Yuu Aoi (Hana and Alice, Honey and Clover) plays against type in the role of Megumi — an enigmatic, assertive female doctor who is not above getting her hands dirty to survive. She also explained some of the choices made in the look of her character.
Instead of trimming her eyebrows to match the manga version of Megumi, she only partially trimmed her eyebrows, Aoi commented,
"I make some effort to try to look like the character of the original since doing so would honor and respect the original work, but I don't think that I have to be absolute about it."
Other stars included in the live action Rurouni Kenshin film are Emi Takei (Taira no Kiyomori, Aysuko Match!) as Kaoru Kamiya, while Munetaka Aoki (The Last Message Umizaru, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time) will play Sanosuke Sagara, and Taketo Tanaka will take on the role of Yahiko Myōjin aka Yoshi.
In addition, Koji Kikkawa (Kamen Rider W) will play as Jine Udo, Yosuke Eguchi as Hajime Saitō, and Teruyuki Kagawa as Kanryū Takeda.
The live action Rurouni Kenshin film will premier on August 25th.
