Live Action GTO Remake Actors Revealed

The producers for the upcoming GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka Jdrama remake confirms that Exile's band member Akira replaces Takashi Sorimachi as the titular character. Furthermore, additional actors had been revealed!
Miori Takimoto (Higanjima) will play the Azusa Fuyutsuki, and Hitomi Kuroki (20th Century Boys, Dark Water) will play Sakurai Ryoko, the principal who believes in Onizuka's teaching abilities.
Yuu Shirota (The Prince of Tennis) stars as Ryuji Danma, a friend from Onizuka's biker gang days who now lives with him. Onizuka's "Class 2-4" students will be played by Haruna Kawaguchi (Ouran High School Host Club), Shou Takada, Shintarou Morimoto, and Taishi Nakagawa.
Yusuke Yamamoto (Kamen Rider Kabuto) will play the part of Toshiyuki Saejima, policeman and bad influence on Onizuka, while Ryusei Tayama will play Hiroshi Uchiyamada, the loud-mouthed vice-principal and Onizuka's nemesis.
GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka follows the story of Onizuka Eikichi, a graduate of a third-rate University and the leader of a motorcycle gang. His lifelong dream is to become a teacher! After being hired by a seemingly eccentric director, Onizuka begins his unconventional way of teaching a hopeless group of troublemakers.
The series will premiere on the Fuji TV network this July, and will run every Tuesdays at the 10 PM timeslot.
