New Sadako is Ai Hashimoto

Last April, an advance screening for upcoming 3D spin-off of The Ring franchise, “Sadako 3D.” During the last minutes of the film, the face of Sadako is finally revealed!
It's no other than young actress Ai Hashimoto. She followed the steps of Tae Kimura and Yukie Nakama as Sadako, currently the face of Japanese horror films. She commented,
“Although it’s actually my first scary role, I was like ‘Again?’ when I heard that I was going to play Sadako and felt no opposition at all for some strange reason. Sadako has become such a popular character that I almost feel sorry to everyone that she’s being played by me.
“I’m very happy that I can play a character that is being liked by everyone. People can’t hate Sadako, therefore they can’t hate me either. Thank you very much for giving me such a precious experience. I hope that many people from my generation, especially senior high school students like me who can watch it for just 1,000 Yen, will come and see it in movie theaters.”
In “Sadako 3D,” mysterious deaths have been rampant as a result of watching a live broadcast of a suicide uploaded on a video sharing site. The distribution of the video clip later leads to the resurrection of the quasi-oceanic demigod Sadako.
The movie stars Satomi Ishihara (Waterboys 2) and Koji Seto (Kamen Rider Kiva) and premiers this May 12th.
