One Piece Film Z: 3.1 Billion Yen Earned in 10 Days!

Earning 1.3 billion yen at its debut weekend, the latest One Piece anime movie, “One Piece Film Z” manages to earn 3.1 billion yen (about US$36 milion) in the 10 days, selling over 2.6 million tickets in Japan.
During the recent three-day holiday weekend, the film sold 835,720 tickets for 1,021,810,350 yen (US$11,878,750) and stayed on top of the chart for the second time.
The film is now the fastest Japanese domestic film to sell 1 million tickets this year! It was 132% higher than “One Piece Film Strong World”, which earned 1.038 billion yen (US$11.7 million) in its first weekend.
One Piece Film Z's projected New Year's ticket sales is said to be over 7 billion yen (US$82 million)!
Eiichiro Oda himself will oversee the production of the “One Piece Film Z” as its executive producer. Osamu Suzuki will serve as the script writer, and Tatsuya Nagamine will be the director.
