The official website for the ongoing Space Battleship YAMATO film remake, Space Battleship YAMATO 2199, revealed that Hironobu Kageyama and JAM Project, Shoko Nakagawa, and Isao Sasaki will be covering the latter's YAMATO theme for the anime's TV premiere this April.
The "dream team" will be collectively known as "YAMATO ALL STARS". The new version will replace the version used in the previous theatrical run, Blu-ray Disc, and DVD releases. Accordingly, a portion of the proceeds from the sales of the unit's single will be donated to the areas affected by the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
Moreover, both Kageyama and JAM Project will be singing the ending theme for the Space Battleship YAMATO 2199's theatrical release. Kageyama will sing for the 5th chapter, featuring episodes 15-18, that will play in 12 theaters on April 13th. Meanwhile, JAM Project will perform the ending theme song for the series' sixth installment.
The new anime is scheduled to air on 5:00 PM time slot on Sundays. It will be the first new Space Battleship Yamato television anime series in 33 years.
